Support the Shelter

KittenPlease visit our wishlist to ship donations to the shelter which provide enrichment, support our volunteer fosters and improve the veterinary care we provide.

We can use your gently used blankets and towels, you can drop them off at the shelter door.

One of our dog's favorite treats is the Earth Animal No-Hide 2.1oz.   amazon-wishlist-logo Opens in new windowMonetary donations are also accepted and appreciated. You can send a check payable to City of Fremont Animal Services or donate online

Student Projects

Does your child need community service hours?  While we cannot have students complete projects in the building, they can complete projects from home to help the animals in our care.

The shelter will sign off the following community service hours:

  • 0.5 hours per kitten heating pad (rice warmie) for kittens
  • 1 hour per braided fleece dog toy
  • 1 hour per fleece tied blanket

Kittens: A great video from the Kitten Lady to show the toys you can make at your home for the kittens in our care. We can also use 24" x 24" blankets for the kittens heading to foster homes.

Make heating pads:

You’ll need:

1) A clean, soft sock in an adult size (longer socks like tube socks work best)
2) Uncooked rice (make sure it’s not instant rice!)

- Fill the sock about halfway with uncooked rice.
- Tie the remainder of the sock with a knot.
- Optional: decorate your sock with nontoxic markers.
- Donate to our shelter!
